Built With Purpose. Grown Through Collaboration.
The Diamond Collective was created to expand access, opportunity, and leadership for Baltimore youth — using baseball and youth sports as tools, and collaboration as the strategy.
Where It Started
The Diamond Collective was born from a lifelong belief in the power of education, mentorship, and sport.

Its founders first connected as college baseball players and remained close friends as their paths led into education, nonprofit leadership, public service, and community development. For more than two decades, they worked with young people as teachers, coaches, mentors, and leaders — always seeing how access (or lack of it) shaped outcomes.

For over 10 years, they coached baseball teams not just to develop athletes, but to build discipline, accountability, and confidence. The game was never just about wins — it was about who young people became.

A Commitment to Baltimore
Three years ago, that vision became urgent.
The facility housing the Baltimore Urban Baseball Association — a critical anchor for youth baseball in the city — was at risk of closing. Rather than allow a vital resource to disappear, strategic planning began to invest directly in Baltimore City.

Last year, that investment became reality with the purchase of the facility — officially establishing The Diamond Collective as a permanent home for youth, partners, and programs.

The Space: Built for Access
Today, The Diamond Collective operates out of a 20,000-square-foot facility, expanded from its original footprint and intentionally designed for flexibility.

Unlike traditional training centers, the space features open, adaptable areas rather than fixed batting cages, allowing it to serve many purposes and many partners.

The facility supports:
Afterschool programs
Field trips and school partnerships
Special events and community gatherings
Practices for Little League, travel, high school, and college teams
Mentorship, leadership, and academic enrichment
Arts and creative programming
Boxing, football, and multi-sport exposure
In a city where space is often the barrier, The Diamond Collective makes space the solution.
Why Baseball & Softball
Baseball and softball are entry points — tools that bring young people through the door.
Once inside, youth are exposed to new opportunities, new mentors, and new possibilities. They train alongside athletes from different backgrounds, learn from nonprofit leaders, and see pathways they may never have imagined.
The game opens the door.
The Collective changes what happens next.
Our Commitment Forward
The Diamond Collective is more than a building.
It is a promise — to Baltimore youth, families, and partners — that access, opportunity, and leadership will not be limited by space, resources, or zip code.
Together, we are building a future where every young person has a place to grow.
Stronger Together
Today, eight nonprofit organizations operate within The Diamond Collective, working side by side in a shared incubator model.
Shared space
Shared responsibility for youth outcomes
Shared purpose
Stronger numbers and deeper reach
By collaborating instead of competing, we strengthen Baltimore’s youth development ecosystem and expand what’s possible for young people across the city.
